Our Mission is to serve as a resource and gathering point for those descendants of leaders in the Reconstruction Era, and those who have a general historical interest in that period.
This site is dedicated to the memory of those courageous people of color who served as leaders of their community in the years after the Civil War.

Whether through religion, education, or politics, they provided leadership during a time when many of our ancestors were newly emancipated.

One of our goals is to compile a database of information on these leaders. Anyone descended from or who has information on one of these individuals, please contact us at:
